Evelyn Cole has a named GCFM Scholarship: “The Evelyn R. Cole Scholarship, presented in memory of the 15th president of The Garden Club of Hingham to be awarded in recognition of Mrs. Cole’s efforts to enrich the lives of Garden Club members everywhere.” She also has two named awards: A State District Award (1953 - Revised 1971) and a New England Regional Award, “The Evelyn R. Cole NATIONAL GARDENER Tray” (1972). She was president of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts (GCFM) (1951-53), our first Landscape Design Council (LDC) Chairman (1963-64), and New England Regional Director (1963-65).
Harriet R. Field has a named New England Regional Landscape Design Award, “The Harriet Field Award in Landscape Design” (1979). She served as LDC Chairman (1964-66).
Evelyn D. Cronin has a named State Program Award: “The Evelyn D. Cronin Horticultural Award”. She served as LDC Chairman (1974-76).
Zelda Moore served as LDC Chairman (1976-77).
Virginia Thurston served as president of the GCFM (1977-79), New England Regional Director (1987-89), LDC Chairman (1993-95), has a named State Landscape Design Award (1988) and a named Regional Landscape Design Award (1989), each called the “Virginia F. Thurston Landscape Design Award”.
Mitzi Belitsky has a named State Youth Activities Award: “Mitzi Belitsky Award” (1983, revised 2002).
Marion Ryan served as president of the GCFM (1997-99), LDC Chairman (1978-80), and received the LDC Award for Excellence (2008).
Diane Bullock served as president of the GCFM (1987-89).
Sally McGuire Muspratt served as LDC Chairman (1999-2001) and received the LDC Award for Excellence (2007).
Heidi Kost-Gross served as president of the GCFM (2011-13) and received the LDC Award for Excellence (2010).
